Guaranteed Ride Home

You want to take the bus and enjoy all the savings, but you're worried about working late and missing your bus? Or worse, what if you have a family emergency during the day? Leave your worries at the bus stop with Metro's Guaranteed Ride Home program.

When you purchase a 30-day rolling pass, you qualify to become a member of Metro's free Guaranteed Ride Home program. As a member, you'll get:

  • A personalized ID card
  • Reimbursements for up to four guaranteed rides home per calendar year
  • Freedom of knowing you'll always have a ride

With Guaranteed Ride Home you can make your own transportation arrangements with Uber, Lift or local taxi companies, then receive reimbursement for up to 80% of your travel costs when you need to leave work due to an emergency, illness or unexpected overtime. 

Funded through a federal grant to promote public-transit use, Metro's Guaranteed Ride Home will reimburse you up to four times per calendar year up to a maximum of $100. The maximum for a single taxi ride is $45. Reimbursement is made when unplanned overtime or an unexpected emergency occurs during your normal workday. Only trips from work to home, a hospital, daycare facility, school, or to a park-and-ride facility are covered. You must be registered for the Guaranteed Ride Home program at the time you request reimbursement.

Guaranteed Ride Home reimbursement
Members of this program can be reimbursed by filling out the Guaranteed Ride Home reimbursement form (344KB) and mailing it to Guaranteed Ride Home, 602 Main Street, Ste. 1100, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Be sure to include the receipt for your taxi fare with the reimbursement form.
